Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced the receiving of more than 7,000 displaced people from the outskirts of Shirqat city northern of Salahuddin governorate after the Iraqi army has provide them with safe corridor .
As the Crescents’ teams received of more than 7,000 displaced people at Silo camp at Hajaj region which is 20 km away from the Bejey district, the Crescents’ teams also distributed food and water, as well as providing treatment and first aid for patients and transfer incapacitated of them. After which the displaced have been transferred to the city of Tikrit, and the village of Hajaj while most of displaced families are currently live with their relatives at Tikrit and its surrounding villages.
It is likely that the numbers of displaced people increase in the coming days as a result of operations in the city of Shirqat. Thus the Iraqi Red Crescents’ teams get ready to receive the families, despite the difficulties faced the teams in time of increasing flee of displaced families and their needs.
