On the occasion of Imam Ali’s (peace be upon him) martyrdom, the Iraqi Red Crescent Society, Najaf branch, mobilized its efforts to meet guests by erecting emergency detachments on the roadways traveled by visitors.
In addition to four mobile detachments dispersed among the visitors, the branch established an emergency detachment with a mobile medical clinic and a team of expert doctors on Imam Ali Street going to the Holy Shrine, and another detachment at Kufa Mosque.
In these detachments, 40 affiliates and volunteers worked to give the essential medical care, first aid, wound care, blood pressure and sugar testing, as well as health awareness of communicable diseases.
Every year, millions of visitors come into the holy city of Najaf, and the Red Crescent sets up emergency detachments to attend to their needs.
