The IRCS has stated in a press release that it has sent 72 tons of aid to Turkey and 68 tons to Syria, the aid included (blankets, shelter tents, foodstuffs, medical and emergency materials, personal and household hygiene items) delivered to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the Turkish Red Crescent, through the airports of Damascus, Aleppo, Gaziantep, and Adana by the Iraqi government airplanes transport aid from Baghdad and Erbil.

The IRCS has also sent aid through Turkish Airlines, and will send new batches through the Syrian Cham Wings company, adding to send special aid to Iraqi citizens affected by the earthquake in coordination with the Iraqi Consulate in Gaziantep, where a relief team from the IRCS is present, and another relief team in Syria.

The IRCS has also reported that the air bridge provided by the Iraqi government continues to send aid daily, with direct support from the Prime Minister, the special cell for coordinating Iraqi aid, the National operations office, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Arab Department and the Department of neighboring countries, and the Iraqi embassies in Turkey and Syria, in addition to its general consulates and the Ministry of commerce, Oil, Immigration, Displaced, Defense, Transport, Trade, and Civil Defense.

In the past few days, the IRCS has received thousands of volunteer requests from Iraqi citizens who wish to join with the Iraqi Red Crescent teams to help provide relief for affected people in Syria and Turkey, while the donation centers opened by the IRCS are attracting a large number of citizens who wish to contribute to help the affected people.
