Under the difficult humanitarian conditions which Nineveh governorate has witnessed, many families forced to leave their homes and flee to safe places to live in the camps of displacement .
So, the Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has taken upon itself the task of relief the displaced families, adding to provide water and food for them as they are the main elements for the sustainability of life .
The IRCS teams has installed water station (M40) in a capacity of 600,000 liters everyday, to provide pure water to more than 40 thousand people in collaboration with a number of engineers from France Red Cross, the water station has been installed at Khazer river for a short period of time in order to provide pure water for the displaced .
This water station (M40) needs a team consist of five people who have been trained by the IRCS`s Water and Sanitation department to work in this system .
The water station M40 considered one of the units which is used by emergency response teams for the International Federation, as it provides safe drinking water for 40,000 beneficiaries everyday with a capacity of 600,000 liters .
It is worthy to be mentioned that the IRCS has installed water purification stations called (RO) in six Iraqi governorate, in order to provide drinkable water for the displaced families at the outback areas which is away from the center of the governorates .
