More than two months have passed on Mosul operation that accompanied by displacement events, the Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has provided food and relief assistance to more than (100) thousand person inside and outside Nineveh governorate by Its relief teams who were distributed in the displacements areas, adding to distribute relief and food assistance to the families in the liberated cities of Mosul.
IRCS has said “IRCS volunteers and staffs are doing their best in responding to emergency needs of displaced people and the local residents of the cities and villages that located in the battle lines, until now IRCS teams are providing the displaced people with relief, food and health assistance adding to psychosocial support.
IRCS has also said “since the start of Mosul operations till now, IRCS has provided different food meals including daily food meals and food parcels for all displaced people, as the number of distributed food rations have reached (80) thousand and more than (20) food parcels, adding to provide displaced people daily with breads made by the bakeries that installed by IRCS which have provided the camps to more than (200) thousand bread, moreover the IRCS has also distributed blankets, oil heaters, cooking stoves and healthy materials ,as well as providing the kids with milk, clothes and other things that the kids need. IRCS has installed water station (capacity: 600000 liters daily) to provide the displace families with potable water.
In the same time IRCS volunteers and staffs have implemented daily first aid and psychosocial support campaigns in the camps and liberated areas inside Mosul, as IRCS teams have provided first aid and psychosocial support for different groups of displaced families and the number of beneficiaries have reached more than (80) person until now.
