Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS)/Al-Muthanna branch implemented a number of health and educational activities in the field of first aid and psychosocial support for displaced families and school students in the governorate. As the staff of the branch conducted field visits to displaced families in the areas of (Al-haidaria stadium) at Al-Semawah and give them lectures on psychosocial support, especially, to the displaced children and participated with them in a various games and drawing activities so that to express their feelings and to provide them with psychological support in order to bring the joy for them, as well as to learn displaced women the ways of dealing with kids and acclimate with the situation, and not to be isolated from the community, adding to give lectures about first aid and methods for aiding emergency cases, meanwhile other health lectures regarding Communicable Diseases among displaced people were given.
The staff of the branch carried out a lecture of psychological support for children in some schools at Al-Muthanna governorate that included lectures about hygiene and Family behavior, adding to give a brief introduction about the Red Crescent and its humanitarian role, principles and its inception while the number of beneficiaries was (126) students.
The staff also implemented courses of first aid at the Directorate of Civil Defense in Al-Semawah regarding the principles of first aid and how to aid and transfer emergency cases like fractures, bleeding, shock, fainting and Gunshots.
