Iraqi Red Crescent Society announces the distribution of food assistance and relief to more than 2,500 displaced families in Salahuddin governorate.
The Assistant Secretary General for Iraqi RC Mr.Mohammed Al-Khuzai said that “Iraqi RC’s relief teams had provided 2,500 displaced families from the areas of (Mu’tasam, Dhului’a and Yathreb) to Samarah city”. Added that “the relief teams received those families upon their arrival to Samarah in which the teams made temporary camps installed by IRCS in the city and to distribute more than 2,000 food parcels and 3,000 blankets for those families, as well as providing them with large amounts of water”.
On his speech Alkhozai also said that “IRCS forms a quick response teams whom sent to Samarah in order to provide humanitarian services and to know the needs of the families, pointing at the same time that IRCS’s teams in Baghdad, creating two locations in the area of Mashtal and Qanat, and to set up camps and tent which equipped with infrastructure and amounts of food and relief so as to anticipate for the displacement of families from Salahuddin to Baghdad.
