The Iraqi Red Crescent Society ( IRCS) has distributed food assistance to more than 1800 families who are living in the old city of Mosul.
” The IRCS`s volunteers in Nineveh governorate have distributed more than 7500 dry food boxes to the families who are living in the neighborhoods of ( Almushahda, Bab AlMasjed, AlAhmediya, Shefa, Hamam AlMankoush, Sheikh Fathi area) in the right side of Mosul, more than 1800 families have been covered in the distribution” . Said Mr. Hyder Qassim the IRCS`s relief official in Mosul.
Qassim has added that the distribution process has been done after the IRCS `s teams have conducted a field assessment in order to register the needs of the families to provide it to them.
Qassim has clarified that the IRCS`s relief teams are continuing to provide more than 350,000 liters of potable water every day, it is distributed to 65 water tank in a capacity of 5000 liters which have been installed in the districts of the old city of Mosul, adding to provide the general hospital in Wadi Hajar area with more than 25,000 liters of potable water every day.
On the health side, Mr. Hyder Qassim said that the IRCS`s health teams have provided daily treatment and first aid by the mobile clinics, where it treats more than 180 cases every day, adding to provide treatment for the people suffering from chronic diseases.
