Since the beginning of the liberation operations of the west island on 23 November 2017 and starting from the sector of Nineveh and Salahuddin liberation operations west of Senjar district, the teams of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has continued to receive the displaced families from various areas of the west island which is located on the Syrian border.
” The IRCS teams have received more than 1500 displaced families since the beginning of the displacement till now from the areas of (Al-Jazeera, Makhool, and AlHathar) most of them are located on the Syrian border in the displaced reception area in Hamam Alalil  district”. Said Mr.Haider Qassim the relief teams official in Salahuddin sector.
Qasim has added that the IRCS teams have equipped all the displaced families in Hamam AlAlil camp with relief and food items, where more than 15000 hot food meals have been distributed within 21 days and the distribution is still ongoing till now, also the IRCS teams have provided relief items for the displaced families until deploying the families in the camps of displacement in Nineveh and Salahuddin.
In the same context, the IRCS`s health teams have provided medical and health services for the displaced families in Hamam Alalil district and more than 500 medical cases  have been treated, adding to provide psychosocial support for them.
The IRCS is still continuing to provide medical, relief and food assistance for the displaced people which is considered  as the first responder for the relief operations in Iraq in cooperation with the partners in the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent.
