As part of the DREF project, the Iraqi Red Crescent provide awareness and psychosocial support to the families of Laylan district in Kirkuk.
The teams of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) have conducted field visits to families affected by the floods in the Laylan district of Kirkuk governorate in order to provide them with psychosocial and awareness support.
The above – mentioned visits included awareness lectures entitled “Managing Psychological Stress and Non-Communicable Diseases,” which focused on ways to cope with the psychological stress that may accompany crises, in addition to introducing the most important non-communicable diseases and methods of prevention. The activities also included organizing recreational activities for children, which helped bring joy to their hearts and alleviate the psychological effects of the floods.
These efforts are part of the DREF project, supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), within the framework of humanitarian efforts aimed at supporting affected families and enhancing their ability to cope with emergency situations
