The Iraqi Red Crescent Society has participated with the government communication team in distributing 125 food parcels for the underprivileged and most vulnerable families in Al-Amel area, located in southern Baghdad, as part of the “Among Our People” campaign.
The director of Baghdad branch of the IRCS, Haider Qasim, stated:
“The distribution initiative came in cooperation with the Government Communication Team and the Ministry of Trade, in addition to the participation of the community police, as part of the ‘Among Our People’ campaign that has covered most of Iraq’s governorates, the campaign also included distributing 12 wheelchairs for people with special needs .”
Qasim continued:
“The IRCS mobile medical clinics accompanied the distribution campaign, providing medical services, consultations, and free treatment to more than 90 patients.”
“30 volunteers and staff members from the Iraqi Red Crescent’s Communication and Community Development Team took part in the initiative.”, Qasim added.
Qasim has also emphasized that other areas will also be included in future distributions, and the IRCS is working diligently to reach and support the largest possible number of underprivileged families with humanitarian aid.
