To Support the Most Vulnerable Groups: The Iraqi Red Crescent Implements a Livelihoods Program in Nineveh governorate.
As part of its efforts to support community development and promote economic sustainability, the Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has launched the Livelihoods Program, supported by the German Red Cross and in cooperation with Smithson Company, which is responsible for conducting participant training.
The program aims to empower the affected families and the most vulnerable groups by providing small income-generating projects.
The media coordinator in Nineveh governorate stated:
“The program included several main components, among them professional training workshops that lasted for 25 days, aimed at enhancing participants’ self-capacity and enabling them to rely on themselves.”
“Each participant also received a financial grant of 1,400,000 Iraqi dinars to start small businesses, in addition to receiving technical and advisory support to ensure the sustainability of their projects.”, He added.
The media coordinator has also added that this initiative reflects the Iraqi Red Crescent commitment, with the support of its partners, to strengthen the resilience of fragile communities and make a positive impact on their lives by providing them with the tools needed to improve their economic and social conditions.”,
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and appreciation for this initiative, which has opened new opportunities for them to achieve a dignified life and improve their sources of income.
