Iraqi Red Crescent: Installing Three Water Desalination units in Al-Muthanna.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has installed three solar-powered Reverse Osmosis (RO) water desalination units in Al-Muthanna governorate, funded by the German Red Cross.
The IRCS media coordinator Najm Al-Shammari stated: “The governor of Al-Muthanna, Mr. Mohannad Al-Attabi, launched three solar-powered RO water desalination units, each with a production capacity of up to 2,000 liters per hour. This comes as part of the ongoing efforts by the IRCS to meet the growing needs of the population for clean and safe water.”
“The three units were installed in Al-Suaib area of Al-Rumaitha district, another one in Al-Ramtha of Al-Warka district, and in Al-Shutait of Al-Khidhir district, these units are part of the IRCS plans to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change and the shortage of drinking water affecting many areas of the governorate.” Mr. Najm added.
Mr. Najm has also pointed out that the three operational units run on clean energy, which helps reduce pollution and positively impacts both the environment and human health.
