The IRCS has developed a plan for the Arbaeeniya pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), which included deploying more than (2000) paramedics to provide first aid and treatment services for pilgrims along the roads leading to Karbala taken by pilgrims and in the city center.
An operations room has been formed under the direct supervision of Dr. Yassin Al-Mamouri, president of the IRCS, and managed by the head of operations department, with the membership of health department director, the disaster management department director and the director of Karbala branch to directly supervise the activity and be present around the clock.
The IRCS volunteers have set up camps on the external roads on Karbala-Baghdad road near Warith Al-Anbiya university, also on Karbala-Najaf road near the mill, and on Karbala-Babylon road opposite Karbala university, the IRCS teams in the city center have setup seven ambulance and service detachments distributed as follows: the Hawally road detachment (Abu Mahdi Al-Hendas), a detachment near Al-Kafeel hospital, Column 1359, Sayed Joudeh detachment, Karbala governorate detachment , Bab Turij detachment, Ahmed Al-Waeli street detachment, and the central library detachment, also deploying mobile detachments in Al-Hindiya and Ain Al-Tamr districts.
The IRCS teams have deployed mobile detachments to provide first aid services and health awareness throughout the governorate, equipped with bandages, first aid kits, and health awareness through publishing and distributing posters related to hygiene, prevention of hemorrhagic fever, and avoiding exposure to the sun as a result of high temperatures, also deploying bus wheels (mobile medical clinics) equipped with medical staff and treatments in the city center to provide medical and first aid services to patients free of charge, and deploying 26 ambulances for evacuation and transportation to hospitals in emergency cases for pilgrims distributed at the main entrances and the city center in coordination with karbala health department.
The IRCS teams have provided the city’s water department with 11 tank wheels in order to transport potable water for processions and service organizations and for cooking uses, and mobilizing all the human and logistical staff of the IRCS including preparing (50) wheels of different sizes and loads to transport pilgrims during the Arbaeeniya pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
