The Red Crescent first aid detachments have continued to provide medical and emergency services for the fifth day in a row as the number of beneficiaries reached 3456 people from various age groups. This is due to the growing number of visitors arriving from the Al-Sheeb border crossing to commemorate the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (PBUH).
Mr. Haider Hussein, director of the Iraqi Crescent Society branch in Maisan, stated, “Within one day, 1232 visitors obtained medical care and treatment by the deployed first aid detachments of the Red Crescent, which work round-the-clock and continuously to keep up with the continuous departure and arrival of visitors, in cooperation with the Iranian Red Crescent and the local government in the province; however, the number of beneficiaries reached 3456.
He continued, “The first aid detachments were able to transfer (233) health cases of visitors whose conditions required their transfer to nearby hospitals and medical centres to receive the essential health care, in collaboration with the Maisan Health Directorate and the Immediate Ambulance Directorate”.
On the other hand, the medical detachments continue to offer 24-hour medical and treatment services for visitors from inside and outside of Iraq in Malaab and Abu Arabana districts, which are 50 miles away from the city centre of Emarah.
