The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced that it has takes several precautionary measures for briefing from Cholera disease and to prevent its spread in some areas of Abu Ghraib. As IRCS has sent health and awareness teams to some areas of Abu Ghraib western of Baghdad so that to provide health services, adding to disseminate health awareness among the people there in order to limit spreading of this disease because the above mentioned area is a home to more than 6 thousands of displaced families.
IRCS’s teams also installed (RO) stations that produce 2000/liter per hour in order to provide water for more than 2,000 families, knowing that these stations relies on well water as a result of rivers scarcity.
Adding to what has just mentioned, IRCS’s teams distributed more than 6000 bottled water and 500 health kit for the people there, and organized health awareness campaigns and gave health guidance on how to deal with this disease, The campaigns has targeted women because they have the major role to get rid of this epidemic and advised their children not to drink contaminated water
