Workshop on “Anticipatory Action” Organized to Strengthen Humanitarian Workers’ Capacities in Addressing Environmental Challenges
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has organized a workshop in Baghdad under the title “Proactive Action,” in collaboration with partners from the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the World Food Program.
The mentioned workshop, which was attended by staff and volunteers from the IRCS across all governorates, included specialized training aimed at enhancing the capabilities of humanitarian workers, particularly regarding proactive responses to the risks of climate change. The training also covered other areas requiring early planning to address disasters before they occur.
The workshop organizers emphasized that such programs contribute to reducing the impact of disasters and improving the effectiveness of humanitarian responses by developing proactive plans based on scientific analysis and early risk assessments.
This initiative is part of the IRCS efforts to enhance community preparedness and increase regional and international coordination in tackling the growing environmental and humanitarian challenges.
