Regarding its desire to offer guests the best services, Maysan branch of the Iraqi Red Crescent has started to set up many mobile and stationary medical and emergency detachments at the Al-Shayeb border crossing and around the administrative governorate’s boundaries, 89 volunteers and affiliates engaged in the services, which included offering visitors rest areas as well as different medical and first aid treatments. Some patients were also transported by ambulances stationed within its service operations sector.
The branch’s director, Mr. Haider Hussein, attended the coordination meeting held by the Al-Shayeb border crossing administration in the same context. The meeting was held at the port headquarters, west of Maysan, in the presence of the deputy governor of the said governorate, representatives of the administrative and security bodies, and the Iranian Red Crescent. The meeting covered a number of topics, including the need for coordination and joint cooperation in order to provide visitors with facilities through the Al-Shayeb border crossing with the neighbouring Iranian nation. It also covered how to give visitors the best services possible through ongoing and efficient coordination between the participating service agencies.
