Volunteer Story
Wafaa Aziz Aboudi was born in 1974 and lives in the centre of Diwaniyah governorate, Wafaa began volunteering with the Iraqi Red Crescent Society in 1998 and continues to this day, carrying out her humanitarian duty with passion and dedication.
Wafaa says, “I enjoy visiting disadvantaged families and bringing joy into their lives by delivering food parcels, I also help young people develop their abilities by serving as a certified trainer for the Diwaniyah branch’s first aid teams.”
Recalling her beginnings, she continues, “My existence was repetitive, with only days and a set pattern, however, after joining with the IRCS, I became a new person, full of vitality and enthusiasm. I became a lecturer and trainer, and I believe that my volunteer work has given me new life. I am constantly striving to improve my skills and be the best I can be alongside my colleagues.”
One of her fellow volunteers describes her impact on the team as follows: “Wafaa is a dedicated volunteer who works quietly, her steps are measured, and she has a unique capacity to conduct courses in terms of both delivery and content, and she holds a special place among all of us, given her extensive volunteer history and illustrious accomplishments, so, she is a model lecturer who can guide and influence students positively”.
