The drought, climate change, and the decline in agricultural water quotas during past years has contributed to the reluctance of many farmers in Maisan to cultivate their lands, which in turn was reflected in the deterioration of the standard of their living, in addition to increasing unemployment and lack of jobs. However, the Iraqi Red Crescent Society has distributed pesticides, agricultural sprays, and has distributed varieties of seeds at a rate of (2 kg) for each farmer, and a total of (20 beneficiaries) in different locations of the villages and rural areas in Qalaat Saleh and Al-Maimunah districts.
