The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS)/Karbala branch implemented a campaign to raise awareness from war remnants for displaced families on the road between Karbala – Najaf. As the cadre of the branch give theoretical lectures on how to avoide remnants of war risk when displaced families returning to their areas in which the lectures included the displaced families at the mosques and schools on the road of Karbala – Najaf.
Adding to what had mentioned above, IRCS teams also distributed posters and pamphlets in this regard to educate displaced families, as well as pasting posters on the walls of mosques and schools, adding to distribute colors, graphic pamphlets and games for displaced children. It is worthy to be mentioned that most areas which had families displacements have become an arenas for battles and fighting and had a lot of mines and unexploded ordnance, the matter which requires warning families, and guide them on how to deal with this remnants before the arrival of the competent authorities to be removed so as to preserve the lives of civilians from its effects
