The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) / Erbil branch has announced that the Society received more than 1,000 displaced people from the outskirts of Fallujah to Erbil governorate.
Hawrey Ehssan, Erbil branch manager has said of that the Red Crescents’ volunteers received more than 1,000 displaced families from areas of Fallujah (Qayarah and Sultan Abed area) who were sheltered by the Red Crescents’ teams in Debka camp at Shaqlawa. He also added “The Crescents’ teams have distributed daily hot meals, baskets and relief assistance to those families”.
The latest statistics regarding the number of displaced people from the city of Fallujah since the beginning of events till now has reached more than (20,000 displaced people), meanwhile the Red Crescents’ teams still continues in distributing humanitarian services for displaced families despite the limited possibilities of the Society and the lack of resources.
Iraqi Red Crescent Society Is an independent national humanitarian, society whose works to reduce the suffering of people without discrimination, in the time of peace and war, and during the natural and non- natural disasters. IRCS is one of the most effective societies within the International movement of the Red Crescent and Red Cross.
