The Iraqi Red Crescent installs bakery in Erbil can covers more than 5,000 displaced families daily

Since the events of Mosul and till now, Erbil governorate received more than (92000) displaced families from Nineveh, Anbar and Salah al-Din which is still has difficult humanitarian conditions and thus it is one of the most Iraqi governorates that has displaced people. As well as it is home to more than 250 thousand Syrian refugees since the beginning of events in Syria most of them distributed in a number of camps and they are in a need for humanitarian needs.
Many of International Organizations and Civil Society Organizations are seeking to help these families and easing their needs of relief, food and health. Since the beginning of displacement, the Iraqi Red Crescent Society seeks, supported by its partners in the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, to meet the needs of displaced people in various humanitarian needs of shelter, food, health, construction and sanitation and psychosocial support services.

On the other hand, IRCS are working, supported by its partners, since the beginning of the events which took place in Mosul in order to meet the need of those families through providing water, food, shelter, psychosocial support. Meanwhile, IRCS recently began to implement a project that supported by the Japanese government which is installing bakeries that can provide bread for displaced daily as the project includes seven bakeries, the first one of them has opened in Erbil which covers the need of more than (5,000) families per a day operated by IRCS volunteers to provide bread and distribute it to the camps.
The director of Irbil branch Mr. Howre  said  that the food is one of the most important things that suffered by the displaced families  that is why we distribute food to them and we are now opened  bakery for bread, which covers more than five thousand families per day,one of the displaced, called Ahmed’s mother said the Iraqi Red Crescent volunteers give us bread every day, And that’s  leading to save  our money.
Another displaced person called Mhmood said when I saw the volunteers of IRCS helping people I decided to work with them and now I am working  in the bakery of bread as a volunteer .
Shortly the IRCS  will opening  seven bakeries in (Dhok ,Slah-Aldeen,Slymania, Baghdad,Al-najaf,Babylon and Erbil) those bakeries   will covered more than (35) thousand displaced families
