The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) in partnership with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, laid the foundation stone for a new health center in Basrah governorate to improve the health situation and provide medical and healthcare services to Basrah citizens. The ceremony was attended by officials from both organizations, including Dr. Zaid Abdul Karim, Vice President of the IRCS, Mr. Nasser Al-Tanak, Vice Chairman of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society’s Board of Directors, Dr. Mohsen Al-Ajmi, Consul General of Kuwait in Basra, along with members of the local government officials in Basra. The center will be built on the IRCS land, with both societies funding its construction and equipment, also the IRCS will manage and operate the center after its expected completion within a year from the start of construction.
Iraqi Red Crescent Society Is an independent national humanitarian, society whose works to reduce the suffering of people without discrimination, in the time of peace and war, and during the natural and non- natural disasters. IRCS is one of the most effective societies within the International movement of the Red Crescent and Red Cross.
