For its volunteers, the Iraqi Red Crescent arranges a first aid course.
Ghanim Abdul-Zahra, the Red Crescent’s communication coordinator in Karbala’a said “For a group of volunteers who would assist in giving medical care to the large crowds of visitors that will converge on Karbala’a Governorate to celebrate Imam Hussein’s (PBUH) Arb’aeen, the Iraqi Red Crescent Society organised a first aid course.
The second session for volunteers, both male and female, is being organised for the purpose of preparing them and maintaining and updating information before to their participation in the Arbaeen visit”
The course, he continued, “focused on developing the participants’ capacities to acquire practical and applied information about first aid techniques, cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques, cases of suffocation, bleeding, and superficial wounds, as well as the best handling when transporting injured people in cases of fractures”.
An introduction to the Iraqi Red Crescent and the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, as well as the fundamental principles of the International Movement, were presented at the conclusion of the session. Volunteer work was also emphasised, along with its significance and the impact it has on both the individual and community.
