The Iraqi Red Crescent Society announced the recorded of 32,000 displaced people from Mosul towards Kurdistan region yesterday. The Assistant Secretary General for the Iraqi Red Crescent Mohammed Alkhozai said ” More than 32,000 people from different areas of Mosul are still in the desert on the borders of the Kurdistan region while the Iraqi Red Crescent is still waiting for official approval from the provincial Authorities to build camps for those displaced people”. He also pointed that “the Iraqi Red Crescent has formed operations room of six provinces, and mobilized all of its potentials to aid those displaced families”, Added Mr.Alkhozai ” teams from Iraqi Red Crescent in Dohuk and Erbil has distributed food aid and water for more than 20,000 displaced people during the last two days”.
Said also at the same time that “the Iraqi Red Crescent launched an Emergency Appeal to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies(IFRS) in order to support the Iraqi Red Crescent to help the displaced people.
On the other hand, Al khozai expressed his deep concern regarding the humanitarian situation of citizens inside the city of Mosul for the lack of electricity, health services and other essential requirements of life.
