The teams and volunteers of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) in the governorates of Basra, Dhi Qar and Maysan have started to provide medical, first aid and health awareness services to the visitors of Imam Hussein Arbieinia ( peace be upon him) who are coming on foot from the governorates of Basrah, Maysan, and Dhi Qar, the teams have installed 24 medical detachments, four of which were scattered on the road of the visitors in the districts and areas of the governorate starting from the end of the last week and lasted for 10 days with more than 500 volunteers and staff.
The director of Dhi Qar branch in the IRCS Mr. Amer Al-Khafaji has said that more than (150) staff and volunteers in the branch have participated and deployed them to eight emergency detachments and distributed throughout the governorate starting from the southern districts (Chabaish, Al-Gharraf
, Shatrah, Rifa’i, and Qal’at Sukkar) to provide services and guide the visitors. Mr. Amer has added” We also directed the visitors through awareness-raising instructions urging to take first-aid and medical items from known places to avoid any harm to the safety and health of visitors.
Al-Khafaji has also said that the work of the IRCS is not limited on the above-mentioned governorates, upon the completion of services delivery in our governorates our teams will move to the governorate of Karbala until the end of the visit of Imam Husein Arbieinia.
