The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has organized a workshop at its headquarters in Baghdad to present and discuss lessons learned from the flood emergency response (DREF) project, in cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The two-day workshop reviewed the project's achievements and identified key challenges and obstacles to ensure future remediation, it also highlighted successful models and promoted experiences that can be built upon in future programs. The training was conducted by a specialized team from the IFRC, with the participation of employees and volunteers from the IRCS branches in the governorates of Diyala, Dhi Qar, Diwaniyah, and Anbar, where the project was implemented. For his part, the engineer Nawar Abdul Qader, director of the water and sanitation dept at the IRCS, emphasized: " Such concluding workshops contribute to maximizing the benefits of projects and transforming lessons learned into practical experiences that enhance the effectiveness of future humanitarian interventions."
