The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has launched awareness campaigns in a number of governorates in order to reduce Hemorrhagic fever disease.
The IRCS has reported in a statement that the hemorrhagic fever disease which is scientifically called ( Crimean – Congo hemorrhagic fever) is a transitional viral disease that affects both humans and animals and usually affects the field animals and does not show clear symptoms, It is transmitted between animals through the ( tick ) insect also it is transmitted to the human through direct contact or through the (tick).
The statement has referred that the IRCS`s teams in the governorates of ( Basra, Diwaniyah, Dhi Qar, Maysan, Wasit, Salah-al-Din and Dahuk ) have organized awareness campaigns in the centers of governorates and the remote areas, especially the cattle and sheep owners in order to prevent hemorrhagic fever disease, the IRCS`s teams have also made some preventive recommendations such as , avoid buying unknown meat that does not carry the seal of the Ministry of Health, and make special recommendations to cattle owners, farmers and animal breeders to follow some guidelines including spraying pesticides for the ticks which are located in the agricultural and veterinary offices to vaccinate cattle from infection and owners of domestic animals Dogs and cats and vaccinate all animals with droplets Tick repellents and treat the external parasites periodically at least every 20 days.
When the symptoms of the above-mentioned disease occurred which is feeling tired and stress, abdominal pain with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea you should check the nearest health center to avoid infection.
