Iraqi Red Crescent Distributes Financial Grants to Displaced Persons in Dohuk Camps under Livelihood Program

The Iraqi Red Crescent Society has distributed financial grants to displaced persons in the camps of Dohuk governorate, as part of the “Livelihood” program, supported by the Danish Red Cross, this initiative is in line with the Consortium Agreement titled “Enhancing Resilience, Safety, and Well-being for Displaced Women, Men, and Children at Risk” for the year 2025.

The goal of the program is to enable the displaced persons to start their own projects and achieve self-sufficiency, based on work plans submitted by them, which were studied and approved by the relevant authorities.

The value of the above – mentioned grant is three million Iraqi dinars for each beneficiary, and this batch included 15 beneficiaries from the Sharya, Domiz 1, and Khaniki camps.

The program officials stated that this step comes as part of efforts to improve the living conditions of the displaced, enhance their ability to cope with economic and social challenges, and pave the way for their sustainable reintegration into society.

They emphasized that the distribution took place after a comprehensive assessment of the beneficiaries’ conditions, ensuring that they are ready to start small projects that will provide them with a regular income, thus contributing to their social and economic stability.
