Basra – The Iraqi Red Crescent Organizes a Workshop to Train Its Teams on Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment for Response.
A training workshop on enhanced vulnerability and capacity assessment (E.V.C.A) concluded in Basra governorate, with the participation of the IRCS teams and volunteers in Basra and Dhi Qar governorates.
The workshop trainer Ashraf Ali stated: “This training workshop was held at Basra branch headquarters, in cooperation with the Danish Red Cross. It aims to enable participants to analyze community risks and enhance their humanitarian response, particularly in light of increasing population, environmental and climate degradation, and unsustainable development.”
“Assessing vulnerability and capacity in at-risk communities is critically important to more effectively identify the causes of disaster risk and to strengthen community resilience.”, Ashraf added.
Ashraf has pointed out that the workshop lasted for three days and witnessed wide engagement from participants, who emphasized its importance in developing local community capacities and improving preparedness and response strategies for various challenges.
