*The Iraqi Red Crescent Society provides ambulance, healthcare, and awareness services to more than 980,000 pilgrims – both Iraqi and foreign during the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

In a statement, the IRCS has reported that its teams have provided healthcare, medical, and first aid services to 980,319 pilgrims from the governorates of Baghdad, Najaf, Babil, Muthanna, Basra, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Wasit, Diwaniyah, and Diyala, in addition to providing the humanitarian services to the foreign pilgrims arriving in Karbala through the border crossings in Basra, Wasit, Diyala, and Erbil to commemorate the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

The IRCS statement continued that its volunteers and members who are deployed across the governorates and through the border crossings have offered various services, including primary healthcare with 184,232 beneficiaries, ambulance evacuation, with 3,165 cases transported to hospitals, and field ambulance services to 458,528 visitors through the IRCS fixed and mobile teams. Furthermore, 207,188 people received health awareness, 8,077 received psychosocial support, and 9,177 people benefited from the establishment of guidance centers for lost and missing persons, the drinking water was also distributed to the processions and Husseiniyas inside and beyond the holy city of Karbala, benefiting 630,074 people.

According to the above-mentioned statement, the IRCS personnel will continue working until the conclusion of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
