On the occasion of International Midwives Day, observed annually on May 5th, the Iraqi Red Crescent teams have conducted a series of awareness lectures for midwives across various governorates.

The mentioned lectures aim to raise awareness and encourage midwives to use the Safe Birth Application, which is considered an important tool in promoting maternal and child health.

This initiative is part of the Mother and Child Project implemented by the Iraqi Red Crescent Society with support from the Danish Red Cross, the project focuses on improving healthcare services for pregnant women and helping reduce risks associated with childbirth.

The project coordinators emphasized that using the application contributes to easier access to accurate and reliable information, and supports midwives in providing better care for pregnant women—especially in remote areas that lack healthcare centers.
