The Iraqi Red Crescent participates in a symposium on violent extremism and peacebuilding in Salah al-Din governorate.
The International Humanitarian Law unit team of the Iraqi Red Crescent (IRCS) has participated in a symposium organized by the Saya organization for Human Rights at its headquarters in the district of Samarra.
The media coordinator of Salah al-Din branch has stated that the participation of the IRCS came through delivering an introductory lecture concerning the international humanitarian law and how it addresses extremist groups if they are parties to an armed conflict.
“The lecture also addressed the concept of the International Movement, its historical emergence, its components and duties, the types and meanings of the emblems, in addition to introducing the seven fundamental principles of the International Movement.”, the media coordinator added.
“The attendees were highly engaged, exchanging constructive discussions and dialogue with the lecturers, and they expressed their appreciation for the Iraqi Red Crescent Society’s efforts in delivering such valuable scientific knowledge.”, the media coordinator noted.
