collaboration with the Danish Red Cross and with participation from (25) of the Society’s cadres in all the governorates that use cash assistance assistance programmes, the Iraqi Red Crescent Society held a training session on the most recent programmes used in the field of cash assistance and remittances.
According to Raed Abdul-Sajjad, the regional trainer at the Iraqi Red Crescent, this course, which was held over a period of three days, intends to do away with the use of paper questionnaires and to work with modern electronic questionnaire applications in the field of financial aid distribution. The first step is to conduct a practical application for the participants, which entails creating texts or visualisations that accurately reflect reality in order to build participants’ practical skills so that each trainee can eventually manage cash assistance programmes on his or her own without returning to the centre. The second axis is having discussions to identify errors in previous projects, challenges, and obstacles that should be avoided in the future.
One of the Nineveh branch participants, Uday Ramadan, asserted: “This session will be very crucial in enhancing our information and our abilities to use modern methods in the procedures of conducting questionnaires and implementing distribution programmes. We are going to implement many cash aid distribution programmes in the governorate in collaboration with partners in the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
“Training on the use of current methods in conducting surveys saves a lot of effort and time, as well as ensures the highest potential fairness in the distribution,” said trainee Esraa Abdel Karim from Maysan. After completing this course, we will have the ability to use modern systems in (cash payment) programmes for distributing cash assistance.
