The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has provided medical, emergency, and preventive services for more than 400,000 visitors over the last four days, kicking off the million-strong march towards Karbala.
The IRCS has said in a statement, “The teams of the IRCS has positioned at the central of Karbala city and it’s entrances and have begun providing various medical treatments, first aid, and preventive measures to (407) thousand visitors came to Karbala from within and outside Iraq,”.
According to the above-mentioned statement, the services provided by more than (2000) volunteers included conveying certain injuries that required medical assistance by the IRCS’s ambulances stationed in the fixed detachments, where the teams have transported 800 cases , also deploying a number of paramedic mobile teams.
The Arbaieneya pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) is one of the most significant annual events, bringing millions of people to the city of Karbala.
The IRCS has supplied all medical, emergency, and preventive care through its teams deployed in the governorates, and these teams then relocated to complete their health services in the city of Karbala.
