The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) implements a number of health activities and First Aid programs that aims to develop the skills and capabilities, as well as to create new paramedics in order to provide medical assistance in case of injuries that may occurs to volunteers and employees of IRCS in Karbala and Diyala governorates.
A cadre form the IRCS forms working groups for implementing practical training activities in the field of first aid which targeted volunteers and employees of the Society in Diyala and Karbala Branch, which will include all the governorates.
As the cadre of Diyala branch implemented a number of health and first aid activities at the branch which included a field exercise for first aid and how to aid and rushed the injured in order to save their lives before being transferred to the nearest hospital, where a large number of staff and volunteers from the branch participated in this activity which included theoretical and practical lectures as well as implementing field training exercise to create of new paramedics to provide immediate relief for people during disasters and accidents.

In the same context, a cadre of Karbala branch carried out training of first aid for the volunteers at the branch and employees of the Holy Shrine of Imam Abbas (Peace be upon him), this activities included lectures about first aid principles and how to present aid in emergency situations for people such as (fractures, choking, burns and bleeding), especially injured in the violence, also the activity included how to provide psychological support for those infected and deal with them, as well as how to transfer and evacuate the injured to ambulances according to the priority and severity of their injury before transferring them to the nearest hospital. The activity comes within the first aid program, which considered one of the important programs implemented by the IRCS in order to create and health-conscious generation.
