With the end of Mosul liberalization operations, a large number of displaced families have returned to their home areas, whereas other families couldn`t return because of the destruction that affected their lives, and most of Mosul neighborhoods especially the right side have suffered a massive destruction of its infrastructure as a result of the battles that took place in it.
The people of Mosul complains about the poor services provided to them, where their areas suffer from the scarcity of drinking water coincided with the high summer heat and the accumulation of waste in residential neighborhoods that lead to the spread of epidemic diseases, as well as the weak services in health institutions Which lack medicine and medical staff.
In order to contribute to improve the health and social reality and help the people of Mosul to overcome the challenges of the difficult health and environmental conditions which they are living and adapt to the crisis to return to life again.
The health teams of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society(IRCS) have organized health programs for the people of Mosul in cooperation with the Danish Red Cross which lasted eight days and covered various community members.
The number of beneficiaries of health awareness programs for school children more than (6000) children, while the number of beneficiaries of the different social groups more than (1800) beneficiaries. The programs included theoretical lectures about the definition of the transitional diseases and the reasons for their spread and how to prevent them, the lectures are also included recommendations for the deterioration of the health situation of the people of Mosul, such as providing drinking water tanks in schools and health centers and provide medicines for the treatment of skin diseases, in addition to the health teams have trained the volunteers on health awareness programs.
These programs fall within the interests of the IRCS in the health services of the most vulnerable groups in the community and in cooperation with its partners in the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent.
Iraqi Red Crescent Society Is an independent national humanitarian, society whose works to reduce the suffering of people without discrimination, in the time of peace and war, and during the natural and non- natural disasters. IRCS is one of the most effective societies within the International movement of the Red Crescent and Red Cross.
